Sounded better then ever this year! That said, I was bummed to hear the place is closing! Looks like we'll have to find out where you'll be next year around this time! Chris,
I remember seeing you play many times in the Torrington, Ct. area in the early eighties. I remember that your nickname at the time was "toad." I am a big fan of Roy Buchanan, Rory Gallagher, and Mike Bloomfield. Having heard their music and your music you're right there with them. Keep up the good work! We're all proud of you here in Torrington!!!
Best of luck,
Pat

Allman Bros-starring Chris Tofield!

Chris, It was unbelievable seeing you on stage with the Allman Brothers the other night! It was like seeing history being made before my very eyes! I couldn't have been happier even if it was me up there on stage! I hope this opens up many new doors for your career and that the rest of the world gets to experience what only a handful of us have seen at the Dollar week after week! You are one kick-ass bluesman that I will NEVER forget no matter where you play! Good Luck Buddy!

October 6, 2008

Hey Chris,
It was great seeing you again last night as always, my friend! I left the sand dollar with ringing in my ears and a smile on my face. As soon as I turned the key to the ignition, I heard that familiar sound coming from my CD player - Chris Tofield... and I smiled even more. You have given me life after I thought it was all gone!

A little less than two years ago my mom past away in a house fire. She was my mentor and my best friend for 41 years. It's hard to find a reason to go on after you lose so much, but Chris, I am here to say that your music has given me that "why" to live again. I have played guitar since I was 10, but I have never really been inspired to study and practice like I have now. Everytime I watch you play I learn something new. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me video tape your playing so I can learn everyday.

My mom was a nurse and gave her life to helping people. You are no different Chris. You have given your life for music and making people happy. I have heard in your songs that sometimes you have questioned whether music was the right path to take . I often wonder if I took the right path myself. I think I would have been a musician if I had another chance because music is what makes the world go around, and for some people it is even their "why" to keep living when nothing is left. If I never gain anything in this life, I will be happy to be able to play half as good as you when I die. You made that right choice Chris. I love you brother!

Hi Again Chris. Met several years back through Mike Lajoie who is going to be thrilled to see your web site. Hope you will be back in the Connecticut area sometime in the near future because as much as I love your music, performance and soul it would be great to hear you live again.
I think the last time I heard you play was Jo's 40th birthday party.
If you are not coming back to the Connecticut area soon, maybe I will catch you in Vegas. You look great, happy and as always your music brings me up when down and for that I "thank you".

Wishing you all the best
